Poster Schedule for EMBC'12
Poster sessions are a valuable method for authors to present papers and meet with interested attendees for in-depth technical discussions. Therefore, it is important that you display your results clearly to attract people who have an interest in your work and your paper.
Preparing your Poster Presentation before the Conference
Your poster should cover the KEY POINTS of your work. The ideal poster is designed to
- attract attention
- provide a brief overview of your work
- initiate discussion and questions
The title of your poster should appear at the top in CAPITAL letters about 25mm (1″) high.
The author(s) name(s) and affiliation(s) are put below the title.
This year the provided poster boards are vertical and measure 8 feet in height and 4 feet in width. Your paper should fit within the following dimensions:
- 3.75 feet wide (114.3 centimeters)
- 7.58 feet tall (231.14 centimeters)
Carefully prepare your poster well in advance of the conference. There will be no time or materials available for last minute preparations at the conference. If you think you may need certain materials to repair the poster after traveling, BRING THEM WITH YOU.
Use color to highlight and make your poster more attractive, by using pictures, diagrams, cartoons, figures, etc., rather than only text wherever possible.
The smallest text on your poster should be at least 9mm (3/8″) high, and the important points should be in a larger font. Make your poster as self-explanatory as possible. This will save you time to use for discussions and questions.
Push pins or Velcro will be provided to attach your posters to the boards.
Your poster must be posted between 07:30 and 08:30 the morning of your presentation and removed after the last poster presentation of the day. If your poster is left behind, it will be discarded.

There are two options if you do not want to bring your own poster to the conference:
You can choose to have it made at some online service (eg. http://www.posterpresentations.com or http://phdposters.com) and request the service to send the poster to you at the hotel - the package should be addressed as follows:
(Name of Guest)
Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel
IEEE EMBS Annual Convention
1 Park Blvd.
San Diego, CA 92101
The hotel charges a fee for receiving the package - please see the following link for the receiving and handling charges: http://www.theupsstorelocal.com/6100/about.htm
The hotel requests that shipments should not be sent any earlier than 1 week prior to the conference.
You can also arrange to have the poster printed locally in San Diego. The two closest places that offer printing services are:
- The UPS Store - there's a branch office in the Bayfront Hilton itself - see website: http://www.theupsstorelocal.com/6100/about.htm
FedEx Office Print & Ship Center,
532 C St,
San Diego, CA 92101
